Manchester United linked with €15m move for Dutch striker at RB Leipzig

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Brian Brobbey.

According to BILD, the news that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Old Trafford has led to United taking an interest in the 20-year-old striker, who Ajax are trying to sign from RB Leipzig this summer.

It is claimed that a fee of €15m would be enough to secure a deal for Brobbey, which raises questions as to why Ajax have been so slow to get a deal done with Leipzig.

The Bundesliga club signed Brobbey from Ajax in 2021 but he failed to settle at the German club. Then, Erik ten Hag re-signed the forward on loan as he scored seven goals in eleven games and he’s still looking for a way out of his present club.

Brobbey might not be ready to lead the line, but it’s clear Ten Hag rates him and United could be in the market for more than one forward if Ronaldo leaves this summer.

This isn’t one of the biggest names in football but at least Brobbey know what will be asked of him under Ten Hag.

While it’s still a massive downgrade from one of the greatest finishers in the game, he is still a young player and it’s entirely up the recruitment team to suggest alternatives to the manager.

At the end of last season, Brobbey dropped a hint that he would like Ten Hag to bring him to United. He told Voetball International: “I’m very happy for Ten Hag. It is a very nice step.
