Manchester United delay special home kit video featuring Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United have launched their new home strip for the 2022/23 season.

While Cristiano Ronaldo featured in some of the promotional pictures shared by the club, despite reports he wants to leave Old Trafford for a second time this summer, it seems like some material was sat on.

For the foreseeable future maybe.

According to The Athletic, United recorded a special video with Ronaldo and club legends like Eric Cantona, Bryan Robson and David Beckham, as a celebration of iconic No. 7s.

The report claims the release of the video has been delayed by Adidas owing it to the 37-year-old’s uncertain future.

On Friday morning, United released a 30 second video on social media of multiple players, including Ronaldo, alongside the kit release.

While most media outlets have suggested that Ronaldo wants to leave United, The Independent stresses that there is a genuine personal reason as to why he has missed training rather than a matter of him going AWOL at the club.

Privacy issues makes it difficult to report on such issues and, on top of that, constant transfer speculation helps Jorge Mendes, who has been trying to get Ronaldo out of United all summer.
