Manchester United announce IT company as new shirt sponsor

A great day for the suits at Manchester United.

Yes, you guessed it, a new multi-year sponsorship deal!

It’s not what the fans want – such as new signings, stadium development or improvements to the training ground complex – but we know what to expect from the Glazer family in 2022.

The latest sponsor to join United’s array of partnership deals, includes IT company DXC Technology, as per ManUtd.com.

Their logo will appear on United’s kits from next season.

It will be visible on the sleeve of the club’s home, away and third kits, which will be launched in due course.

Sleeve sponsors are becoming a regularity at football clubs across the world. Unlike other clubs, the Glazers are more than likely going to use this money to line their pockets, rather than help the team on the pitch.

DXC Technology’s Chief Operating Officer, Chris Drumgoole said: “Manchester United is a club with huge history and we are proud to be part of its exciting new era for the club.

“Whether it’s running one of the most popular and successful sports teams in the world, or transforming business for Fortune 500 organisations, Manchester United and DXC are experts in managing world-class operations. We stand shoulder to shoulder in our belief in the power of technology to win.”

It remains to be seen whether Richard Arnold and John Murtough can help steer this club into a better place, but it sounds like fans are convinced they’ve got the right manager in Erik ten Hag.

I don’t think DXC Technology will make much of a difference… but their expertise could help United engage with fans more…
