15 Manchester United players expected back at Carrington for training on Monday

Some first-team players have already reported at Carrington training complex for pre-season medicals.

That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, with the club’s non-internationals due to start pre-season training on Monday.

New manager Erik ten Hag will see the rest of his squad return in staggered phases through pre-season. It’s far from ideal but it would argue that it only looks terrible because the recruitment team has yet to add to the squad this summer.

It’s inexcusable if you ask me.

The MEN report adds that players on international duty are usually granted a minimum three-week break.

Manchester United players expected back at Carrington on Monday

David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Tom Heaton, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Luke Shaw, Donny van de Beek, Amad Diallo, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford.

A full pre-season for a lot of these players, like Rashford, should really benefit them once the season gets underway.

If its tits up by Xmas bring Rooney in and watch him sort these babies out.
