(Video) ESPN FC journalist jokes about Man City potentially stealing De Jong transfer

ESPN journalist Rodrigo Faez made a joke on ESPN FC’s LaLiga Centro about Manchester City potentially stealing Frenkie de Jong from Manchester United.

Not funny, eh?

The journalist makes it clear he’s joking, but you never quite know what is waiting around the corner when you’re involved in a transfer saga that is being dragged out like this one.

It would be a massive blow to United, if that was to happen, but is Pep Guardiola in the market for a player like De Jong?

I’m not convinced and De Jong will have a greater role to play at United — once the Red Devils are back competing in the Champions League.

Some might say this could be City’s way at getting one back after missing out on Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.

Following a 3-2 win over Wales, the Netherlands star De Jong reaffirmed his commitment to Barcelona, but that could be just his way of avoiding conversation about a transfer.

Let us know in the comments section if you think United will sign De Jong, or if you feel City are waiting to better our attempts?
