Manchester United send scouts watch Denmark vs Austria

Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to watch Monday night’s game between Austria and Denmark and we can only take a wild guess at them being there to monitor Christian Eriksen.

Photos have emerged online tonight showing a list of clubs with scouts at the game, including Manchester United.

Two days ago The Mirror reported that United had joined the race to sign the Dane following his impressive return to the Premier League with Brentford. However, Eriksen’s contract at Brentford is set to expire and his future is up in the air at the moment.

It would make sense for Ten Hag to at least consider Eriksen in a bid to maximise his budget for summer transfers. He’s a quality midfield player and we could do with two or three additions for the middle of the park.

United will be losing Juan Mata later this month and Eriksen, who is younger and equally experienced, could be a really good fit for the team.

Ten Hag got to see Eriksen up close from the time that the Danish midfielder spent training at Ajax ahead of his move to Brentford. With that in mind, he should know more about the player than the rest of us.

Let us know in the comments section below if you think there are other players United should be looking at, who play for Denmark or Austria? Maybe Konrad Laimer.
