Marcus Rashford pops the question to childhood sweetheart in Hollywood

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford proposed to his childhood sweetheart on a trip to Hollywood, just days after the Premier League season came to an end.

The 24-year-old popped the question to Lucia Loi as they made the most of their time in Los Angeles.

Pictures have surfaced online showing a romantic moment shared between the pair, as seen below:

A source told The Sun: “They’re over the moon. Marcus has been planning this for a while and wanted to make it special.

“They went out in LA for a romantic night together on Tuesday and he proposed there and then. It was extremely romantic.

“They celebrated afterwards with a group of close friends – including his Manchester United teammate Jesse Lingard.”

After a terrible campaign, we are hoping that our players can return refreshed for pre-season and hit the ground running under new manager Erik ten Hag, who has seemingly persuaded Rashford to stay despite rumours that Bayern Munich have listed him as a transfer target.

Rashford has started his summer on a positive note and it’s been reported that he is planning an intense training camp while in the US to ensure he impresses Ten Hag when the team returns from their break.

A source added: “All involved are thrilled at the recent news of the engagement. Lucia has been a big part of Marcus’ life since school, offering stability, a sense of belonging, a relatability, and assurance, that can be rare to find in this world.

“This is a very special, welcomed, moment for them both and everyone wished them nothing but the best.”

The report from The Sun claims that Rashford and Loi first fell in love when they were 15.

Rashford started just 13 league games this season and was left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their summer internationals. He needs to rediscover his best form for United next season to work his way into Ten Hag’s plans.

We would like to congratulate Marcus and his partner on the fantastic news.
