(Video) Rio Ferdinand urges Man United to sign relegated full-back

Manchester United are set for a big summer transfer window.

The Red Devils, now under the guidance of new manager Erik Ten Hag, are heading towards a major overhaul.

The club are believed to be targeting six new signings in five different positions.

That’s according to a recent report from CaughtOffside, who claims United’s recruitment team are targeting a new centre-back, right-back, two midfielders, a winger and a striker, and former defender Rio Ferdinand believes one recently relegated player could prove to be a great addition.

Norwich City was relegated back to the Championship following an underwhelming campaign back in England’s top flight.

Despite the side’s disappointing season, one player who continued to be a standout performer was right-back Max Aarons and Ferdinand would like the Red Devils to try and lure him back to the Premier League in time for next season.

“Someone like Max Aarons you could put him like a Chris Smalling-type signing where they come in and they have an impact,” Ferdinand said on his Five YouTube Channel.

‘They may not be straight starters immediately but they go and they stay there for 10 years and have a really good career and they impact the club at different levels.”

  1. We signed a relegated midfielder once…Keano did alright I think… Not sure being relegated is a damning overview of the lad’s potential, more about the unworthiness of his side to be in that season’s top flight.
