Tchouameni tells Monaco team-mates about plans to join Spanish giants amid Manchester United interest

Aurelien Tchouameni has been heavily linked with a move away from AS Monaco this summer, with a number of top European clubs chasing the young France international, but he has reportedly told his team-mates where he would like to play his football next season.

Manchester United were one of the clubs interested in signing Tchouameni after another impressive season in France, as per ESPN, with new manager Erik ten Hag eager to overhaul his midfield.

The report suggest that the 22-year-old midfielder would be a target presented to the club by Ten Hag, but it looks like Spanish giants Real Madrid are leading the race for his signature.

According to Julien Maynard, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, Tchoumeni has told his Monaco team-mates he wants to join Real Madrid.

After missing out on Kylian Mbappe, who has signed a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain, the La Liga champions will be planning ways to spend their money elsewhere.

It makes sense that they would prioritise Tchoumeni over Paul Pogba, with the United midfielder set to join Juventus on a free transfer next month.

Tchoumeni would have been a perfect midfield signing for us.
