Manchester United are back in action tonight as they welcome Brentford to Old Trafford for the final home game of the season. It’s been an agonising season for United, with Champions League qualification now out of reach.
Despite there being very little to play for, Rangnick rejected the opportunity to change things up and made just one change from the side which drew with Chelsea four days ago. Juan Mata, who made a positive impact in the dull Old Trafford draw, replaced Marcus Rashford.
Anthony Elanga is United’s only silver lining this season and the Swedish youngster impressed in the opening minutes once again tonight as he played Bruno Fernandes in for the opener, as seen below.

Elanga’s frightening pace made sure he beat the Brentford defender to the ball, clipping the ball in towards Fernandes who made no mistake on the volley.
Rangnick will be hoping to build on that goal, with victory in the final home game possibly lifting spirits ahead of the run-in. One thing’s for sure – incoming manager Erik ten Hag will be watching with a keen eye.
