Ralf Rangnick has named his starting line-up for the final home game of the season, with one change from the XI that drew 1-1 against Chelsea last week.

Manchester United are on the verge of missing out on Champions League football next season and fans are beginning to debate over whether we would be better to completely forget about European football for the foreseeable future — throwing away the rest of our games to avoid qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

While I get that argument because it would help with Erik ten Hag’s rebuilding job, in his first season at the club, where he will be transition from manager of Ajax to manager of the biggest football club in the world.

At the same time, I wouldn’t turn my nose up at the Europa League and at least that doesn’t mean we’d have qualification matches in July!

Without further ado, let’s look at tonight’s team to face Brentford – confirmed by @ManUtd on Twitter.

David de Gea starts in goal.

We will see Alex Telles and Diogo Dalot at full-back despite being poor against Chelsea. They will play either side of Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof.

Nemanja Matic will protect that back four while Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay try to pull the strings in the middle.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be joined by Anthony Elanga and Juan Mata in attack.

Mata is worthy of his call into the team after impacting the game when he came off the bench against Chelsea.

The players are expected to do a round of appreciation at full-time.
