Player Ratings: Arsenal 3-1 Manchester United – Reds out of top four race

Manchester United can say goodbye to their top four hopes this season after losing 3-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Reds have a number of chances to get back into the game, but they didn’t smell blood.

The referee made matters difficult but there’s no point blaming officials – not when we’ve been seeing results like this since the beginning of the season.

Check out our player ratings at full-time below:

David de Gea – 6

Made some good saves but guilty of sticking to his line on too many occasions. Ultimately let down by abysmal defending.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Awful defensively yet again but forced a brilliant save from Ramsdale.

Victor Lindelof – 5

Didn’t do much wrong.

Raphael Varane – 4

A poor failed clearance led to Tavares’s goal. Needs some games under his belt after returning from injury.

Alex Telles – 2

The Brazilian will be lucky if he’s at the club next season.

Scott McTominay – 4

Not at the races but earned a penalty in the second half.

Nemanja Matic – 5

Created Ronaldo’s goal with a brilliant cross.

Jadon Sancho – 6

One of few players who showed a bit of class today. Made it look easy as he skipped past defenders.

Bruno Fernandes – 3

Missed penalty and his overall performance was poor again.

Anthony Elanga – 5

Some decent moments but we didn’t look to get him in behind enough. Arsenal struggled to deal with his pace at times.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 7

Best United player on the pitch. Scored his 100th Premier League goal.

Subs

Jesse Lingard – N/A

Came on too late to warrant a rating.

Marcus Rashford – N/A

Came on with Lingard.

Juan Mata – N/A

All three subs were late and ineffective.
