Bastian Schweinsteiger hails appointment of Erik ten Hag

Bastian Schweinsteiger is impressed with Manchester United’s appointment of Erik ten Hag as manager.

The former Manchester United has seen the Dutchman in action when in charge of his younger brother at Bayern Munich.

Ten Hag was announced as the new permanent manager at Old Trafford this week and he will replace Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season. Meanwhile, in the Netherlands, the incoming manager is trying to win a third Eredivisie title at Ajax.

It will be a huge step up for Ten Hag, with a rebuilding of the squad expected to begin this summer as the club looks to improve matters on the pitch at least.

Schweinsteiger, who spent his best years at Bayern before joining United, thinks Ten Hag is a good move for his former side.

‘Definitely a good choice,’ the German tweeted. ‘I was able to watch a couple of games of him with the FC Bayern 2nd team since he coached my brother a few years ago.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him at Old Trafford. Let’s see, if he can contribute his share to turn things into the right direction.”

Like we said, it’s going to be a huge job for Ten Hag to turn things around at United.

As fans we’ll be behind him every step of the way.
