Kalvin Phillips has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United this summer.

According to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are ‘working on a deal’ to sign the England international from Leeds United.

Phillips has excelled in a deep role for both England and Leeds, making him an attractive option for United, but is he willing to turn his back on his boyhood club – knowing the flak he’d take for moving to Old Trafford.

Although, purely for the sake of Phillips’ career, surely a switch to Manchester United is too good of an opportunity to turn down?

United have been strongly linked with signing fellow England international Declan Rice, but West Ham manager David Moyes has said they will demand over £150 million for his signature this summer.

Phillips is under contract at Leeds until 2024 but he is one of the players United will be taking a close look at this summer.

The midfielder has made 29 appearances in the Premier League this term.

Let us know in the comments section if you think Phillips is what United need in midfield.

  1. This is pure speculation and conjecture. Kalvin promised his late lamented granny Val he would be loyal to her memory and his home town club. He has just bought a £2.8 million mansion on the outskirts of Leeds and the Manchester United antipathy would ensure he could never contemplate what this piece of arrogant unresearched journalism suggests.
