Marcus Rashford contract talks with Manchester United at a crossroads

More uncertainty over Marcus Rashford’s future even though Manchester United want him to sign a new contract…

There is no denying that Rashford is having his worst season to date, but I still hope he can ride this wave and get back to his best in a Manchester United shirt.

But for a player who has spent his entire senior career with United, there appears to be a lack of support from interim Ralf Rangnick, who left him out of Saturday’s line-up after Cristiano Ronaldo was ruled out due to illness.

According to ESPN, United want Rashford to sign a new contract, but the academy graduate may yet decide to move on.

It may also come down to the next manager, who will surely decide if he wants Rashford part of his long-term plans.

Rashford’s current deal runs until June 2024 if the club trigger the option of a further 12 months next year.

The 24-year-old was warned about the heartbreak of leaving his boyhood club by former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler.

He was hampered by injuries last season and has struggled for form this time around, with just five goals in as many months for United.

This comes after reports from Fabrizio Romano that Rashford is considering his future at Old Trafford.
