Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo was left red-faced over the weekend when Boca Juniors drew with Arsenal Sarandi.

The two teams were tied 1-1 when Rojo found the back of the net with a late goal from the penalty spot, but he clearly wasn’t expecting to concede an equaliser just 20 seconds later.

Three points would have seen Boca move up to first place in Group A of the Argentine Primera Division, but sadly for Rojo, it wasn’t to be.

After a passionate celebration, the 32-year-old found himself at the other end of the pitch, knowing he should have done better to prevent the goal.

Through thorough examination, it was Rojo who allowed Cristian Colman space in the penalty area to find the back of the net, but Boca Junior were poor at the back.

The Argentine wasn’t a particularly great defender during his time at United and was known for being incredible rash when it came to making tackles.

Rojo left United back in February 2021.
