Facundo Pellistri’s performance against Peru last night was praised by a newspaper in Uruguay.
El Observador wrote: “Pellistri was, along with Sergio Rochet and Federico Valverde, one of the highest performers that Diego Alonso’s team showed during this decisive match.”
This is obviously very encouraging from a Manchester United perspective, to have a young player blossoming on the international stage, but he has only played 10 minutes on loan at Alaves since the turn of the year.
That is what makes it bizarre that Pellistri has started the last three games for Uruguay. They must see something in him.
Someone has uploaded Pellistri’s highlights against Peru to YouTube – containing clips amounting to 2:25 minutes.
He certainly looks like a player that could player in a high pressing side!
