(Video) Manchester United flop scores unstoppable free-kick in Copa del Rey semi-final

Manchester United’s bizarre 2010 signing of Bebe lives long in the memory.

After a recommendation from Portuguese super agent, Jorge Mendes, Sir Alex Ferguson took a punt on Bebe for £7.4m (via Daily Mail) but none of us knew anything about him.

After several terrible performances for United, Fergie quickly came to the conclusion that this kid was not cut out for life at Old Trafford, so he spent some time out on loan before heading back to Portugal.

It’s only fair to say Bebe was a flop…

But after a spell at Benfica, Bebe moved to Spain where he has enjoyed his football — initially with Eibar before joining Rayo Vallecano.

On Thursday night he scored an unstoppable free-kick from distance against Real Betis in their Copa del Rey semi-final meeting, which ended 1-1 (Betis progress on aggregate).

The screamer gave his side a lifeline in the tie but they conceded in the 92nd minute after a goal from Borja Iglesias.
