Ralf Rangnick wants to bring RB Leipzig defender to Manchester United

Apparently, Ralf Rangnick wants Manchester United sign RB Leipzig star Nordi Mukiele.

Before we get to the source of this information, which I think should be questioned, it’s important that we note how United are likely to be linked with every RB Leipzig player this summer.

We had it in January with links to Amadou Haidara and Christopher Nkunku, two highly rated players, but nothing materialised as United didn’t plan on making any signings midway through the season.

Rangnick, who has strong links to the Red Bull football brand, will know all about these players but his focus was on assessing the squad in January. Hopefully he will have a better idea in the summer, along with the new manager, who will be expected to work closely with the German.

However, RB Leizpig’s Mukiele is the second right-back I’ve seen linked to United today – after Southampton’s Toni Livramento.

According to Spanish publication Fichajes, cited by the Manchester Evening News, Rangnick is looking to bolster the position and Mukiele could be that man.

The Frenchman played under Rangnick during his time in the Bundesliga, but they only spent a season together.

Time will tell if Mukiele is a serious target but the Fichajes is not very reliable when it comes to United news. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were still linking us to Gareth Bale.
