Moonpig apologise for ridiculously insensitive Cristiano Ronaldo Valentine’s Day card

Moonpig has removed a ridiculously insensitive card featuring Cristiano Ronaldo from sale and apologised ahead of Valentine’s Day.

The product featured a picture of the Manchester United and Portugal star, who was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room in Las Vegas 13 years ago, with a message that read ‘nothing will stop me from scoring this Valentine’s Day’.

No matter who is pictured on such a card, that is an absurd item for any website to sell and it’s clear that they didn’t get it enough thought on day 1, especially before it was initially released for sale.

Apologising for the offensive card, a Moonpig spokesperson told the Daily Mirror: “It’s never our intention to upset anymore, we take pride in delighting our customers and go to great lengths to provide an exceptional range and service to them.”

Hmm, yeah, we can see that alright.

While it’s not clear, I highly doubt Ronaldo endorsed this product so he’s likely to be annoyed by the negative publicity it will bring on top of the bad performances United are putting in on the pitch.

We hope nobody thought it was a good idea buying this product.
