Rangnick: Lingard and Cavani available for Burnley clash

There are no problems between Ralf Rangnick and Jesse Lingard.

That is according to the manager after Lingard appeared to hit out at claims made about his lack of involvement against Middlesbrough on Friday night.

Rangnick said Lingard asked for extra time off, whereas the player said he was advised to take that time off.

Edinson Cavani is another player who made himself unavailable for the Boro clash. In hindsight, they both would have been good options against the Championship, especially when you consider the amount of chances we squandered.

Rangnick has said that both players will be available tomorrow night. He also mentioned that they are two top professionals.

“They’re both available and will both be part of the squad for tomorrow’s game at Burnley. Both are top professionals, both have been training well,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.

“With regards to Jesse, I have a very good relationship with him, he knows I would have been willing to let him go at least until the issue with Mason came up, he mentioned some personal issues.

“We have to look forward now, there are no problems whatsoever between myself and Jesse and vice versa. I’m very happy to have him in the squad and he’ll be in the squad for tomorrow night’s game.”

United will look to bounce back from their FA Cup disappointment by getting three more points on the board against Burnley, who sit at the bottom of the Premier League (with games in hand).

Sean Dyche has a lot of work to do to keep Burnley up again.
