Mauricio Pochettino’s future up in the air after shock cup exit against Nice

Manchester United will be on red alert following reports in France that strongly suggest Mauricio Pochettino will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

After suffering a shock cup exit at the hands of Nice on Monday, Le Parisen claim the Argentine’s last hope is landing the Champions League this season, and they face Real Madrid in the next round of the competition.

Pochettino has 18 months left on his PSG deal and he is one of the leading candidates for the United job this summer, along with Ajax coach Erik ten Hag.

Marca in Spain have begun speculating over Zinedine Zidane taking charge at PSG, which will only put more pressure on Pochettino between now and the end of the season.

At least, for Pochettino’s sake, PSG have a healthy lead over Nice at the top of Ligue 1, but the Champions League is what they really want in Paris.

Thomas Tuchel had to wait to join Chelsea before winning it last season, so maybe Pochettino can do the same when he leaves PSG?
