Amad praised by teammate after Rangers debut

“I’m delighted to be joining Rangers until the end of the season.” – Amad Diallo, January 2022

The Manchester United loanee certainly played like he was enjoying himself against Ross County on his Rangers debut at the weekend.

Amad scored after just four minutes to make an instant impact and is looking to continue his bright start after finding first team opportunities limited since joining the Reds from Atalanta.

It is a chance for the Ivory Coast youngster to experience physical first team football in difficult conditions, and United will hope he comes back a better footballer for it.

Rangers teammate Joe Aribo has publicly praised Amad after his first appearance in the Scottish Premiership. They will be hoping his addition can help guide them to another SPL title.

“You could see that he was a constant threat every time he got on the ball, and he got on the scoresheet,” Aribo is quoted by Football Scotland.

“He’s getting his numbers in already, and that’s very good to see.”

United could have a shortage of attackers next season so if Amad can have a good second half to the season, the Ivorian could find himself even closer to first team football in the Premier League.

Amad was sent straight into the starting Rangers XI and you could tell he found it easy.

It was Aribo’s low cross that Amad was able to slot home in the opening minutes. A simple but effective goal yet Rangers failed to win the match after conceding in the final minutes to draw 3-3.
