Donny van de Beek set for departure after three clubs agree loan terms

Donny van de Beek’s situation at Manchester United is a baffling one. For such a technically gifted player to be constantly overlooked by two managers, despite costing £40m, is mind-boggling and shows the level of recruitment fans have had to deal with over the years.

Now the Dutchman is on the verge of escaping Old Trafford (I mean, it must feel like he’s stuck in the mud at the moment) and the Manchester Evening News claims that three clubs have accepted United’s loan terms ahead of deadline day.

That means Van de Beek is pretty certain to leave United on loan this month, with Crystal Palace, another Premier League, and an unknown overseas club all understood to have agreed on the terms of a loan.

A decision will be made by the player on which club he chooses to join in order to rejuvenate his career and get back into the Netherlands squad ahead of this year’s World Cup.

Van de Beek to Palace? Alex Turk certainly believes all has been agreed. 👇🏻

For instance, Van de Beek has not started a league game since May.

The report states that any club that signs Van de Beek on loan would cover his weekly wage of £120,000 in full and may be forced to pay a loan fee as well.

Paul Pogba’s imminent return from injury will only further restrict Van de Beek’s playing time, too, so it doesn’t make any sense to keep him around. He hardly played before January, and that isn’t going to change between now and the end of the season unless the squad is hit by an injury crisis or another COVID-19 outbreak.

It is also believed that figures at United think the midfielder lacks the required physicality to succeed in the Premier League, which will come under the examination of every fan if he decides to join another English club this month.
