Manchester United begin talks for Bundesliga midfielder

Manchester United have opened transfer negotiations with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for Amadou Haidara, who is currently away at the African Cup of Nations.

That is according to friend of Stretty News, Jonathan Shrager, who made the revelation on Twitter last night. He tweeted: “Whilst talks are in preliminary stages, I am told that there is now an open dialogue between #MUFC and RB Leipzig regarding Amadou Haidara.”

There was a recent breakthrough in the transfer saga because the Mali international has been linked with United ever since Ralf Rangnick got the manager’s job on an interim basis.

Talks are in the preliminary stages now with the club hoping to strike a deal, but the Chronicle Live believes there will be competition from Newcastle United for the midfielder’s signature.

The Mirror reported that Leipzig have verbally agreed a £33 million free for the player, however, no formal bid has been made yet.

There has been constantly negativity spoken about our midfield and maybe Haidara could be a valuable addition to the squad. I have not seen too much of him in action but he is a player Rangnick knows well.

Making a move for Haidara now sounds a lot better than going the rest of the season ignoring our problems in midfield.
