(Video) Fred lifts the mood at Old Trafford with beautifully chipped goal v Crystal Palace

Fred breaks the deadlock with a magnificent strike in Ralf Rangnick’s first game in charge.

Diogo Dalot and Mason Greenwood did superbly to open up Crystal Palace for the game’s opening goal. Fred was left free outside the box and, with his right foot, chipped the goal over their goalkeeper.

The goal saw United seize control of the game – after seeing their intensity levels drop after the break — but it was still thoroughly deserved.

It was a wonderfully controlled finished by Fred and it’s not often we’ve seen him score from outside the box.

The Brazilian has been getting forward more in recent weeks and it was to devastating effect today. He picked out the top corner beautifully.

United are about to bring on Donny van de Beek with less than 10 minutes left.
