Manchester United could be without two key players for Arsenal visit

Manchester United are already without Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Raphael Varane for tonight’s clash against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Now it looks like caretaker manager Michael Carrick will be without two more key players as United look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Although Ralf Rangnick’s visa was approved earlier today, Carrick will remain in charge for tonight’s game, with the German set to take charge fully for Sunday’s trip to Crystal Palace.

Manchester United squad spotted at the team hotel, as per Manchester Evening News:

Goalkeepers: De Gea, Heaton, Henderson

Defenders: Bailly, Dalot, Jones, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles

Midfielders: Fernandes, Fred, Mata, McTominay, Van de Beek

Forwards: Amad, Greenwood, Lingard, Martial, Rashford, Ronaldo, Sancho

If this is the squad and we don’t see any late changes, it means Luke Shaw is still out with a head injury.

Moreover, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is someone we had down to start tonight, but the MEN suggest he is another expected absentee.

Alex Telles will surely start at left-back because nobody else stands out as an option for left-back. Alternatively, on the right flank, Diogo Dalot may be handed a rare start.

We are hoping to see United play on the front foot tonight rather than soaking up pressure with three midfielders squeezed into defensive roles.

Only time will tell. We’ll have the team news and reaction at approximately 7.15pm.
