(Video) David de Gea gets fingertips to venomous Antonio Rudiger strike

Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Sunday following their crucial win at Villarreal earlier this week. The victory over Unai Emery’s side confirmed their passage to the next round in the Champions League but they now face a stern test against Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are top of the Premier League and full of confidence ahead of the 90-minute affair, but with the first 45 minutes player, Michael Carrick’s makeshift side is still in the game.

The score remained all even when the two teams left for the interval, with David de Gea once again being the standout performer for the Reds.

Just roughly an hour played at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was offered some space outside of United’s penalty area and unleashed a venomous strike.

At first glance, it looked like De Gea was beaten but replays show that the Spaniard somehow got his fingertips to the strike to keep United at bay.

Chelsea have been the dominant side but with another 45 minutes to play and the scores remaining even, United will fancy themselves after the break.
