Harry Maguire will be one of the happiest players on the pitch after tonight’s 2-0 win over Villarreal after being heavily criticised after a poor start to the season.
Manchester United have been conceding far too many goals and not keeping enough clean sheets.
Tonight against Villarreal we saw a more organised performance at the back, with United sitting back in a defensive shape for the first 60 minutes.
Michael Carrick noticed that the game was there to win and brought on more attacking players, which lead to United scoring two goals and winning the match 2-0.
Although David de Gea will be most happy with the clean sheet, Maguire knows nobody can slate his display tonight which is probably a first for this season.
Maguire spoke to BT Sport after the match and was happy with United’s solid performance.
"That's a start, now we need to push on."
"Ronaldo has been brilliant, that's what he's done throughout his career."

“That’s a start,” Maguire said. “We need to keep pushing.”
I suspect United will go into Sunday’s game against Chelsea with a similar approach in order to try avoid any individual mistakes. That is what cost Solskjaer his job in the final weeks.
