Spain manager Luis Enrique laughs off Manchester United links

Luis Enrique is fully focused on the World Cup it seems.

Sky Sports ran a report earlier today suggesting that the former Barcelona manager had been tipped by Cristiano Ronaldo as an ideal candidate to take charge following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking, which was announced on Sunday morning at 10:30am.

But that may be only one side of the truth because it doesn’t sound like Enrique will be entertaining any rumours.

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano quotes the Spain manager dismissing claims that he is in line to become United manager, saying (citing La Sexta): “Is today April Fools’ Day?”

Who will it be? Does anyone have the slightly Scooby-do?

United can still turn their season around but it won’t help if this situation drags on. That means the board must work quickly and they already had the international break to sort this out.

Are they guilty of more incompetence? I thought that wasn’t possible after the ESL disaster in May.

The Reds are still without a plan.
