12:00 Luis Enrique tipped by Cristiano Ronaldo
This wouldn’t spell good news for David de Gea.
Although, he did a very good job at Barcelona.
11:44 players left exasperated
Several key United players had become exasperated by Solskjær and his coaches’ abilities to make the team better, with one source saying the players regarded the training as “too British” and unsuited to the requirements of the modern game at the elite level.

I’m not sure what they are going to change now since they were crucial figureheads to Solskjaer’s staff.
11:00 how very sad
Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and nobody wanted to see it end like this.
We all wish him the very best for the future. A great man who gave us so many great moments.

10:35 Club statement – Ole SACKED
“Manchester United announces that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as Manager.
“Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.
“Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a Manager who gave us many great moments. He will forever be welcome back at Old Trafford as part of the Manchester United family.
“Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim Manager to the end of the season.”
10:28 Don’t get your hopes up over Zidane
The Glazers want Zidane like United fans want #GlazersOut. Neither will be happening anytime soon.

It was briefed late last night that United were downplaying reports linking them with the Frenchman.
Who isn’t interested.

Firstly, thank you for joining our live blog.

None of us will argue that the board has been left with no other choice as Solskjaer has ran his race by taking the team as far as he could.
The writing has been on the wall for some time.
Updates today will be from Dale and Arvin, reacting to updates on Solskjaer’s future as United manager.
It was pretty grim yesterday at Vicarage Road and the pictures at the end were unsettling because it didn’t have to come to this.
The club had the entire international break to come to a decision, but I guess nobody expected such a hammering against Watford.
My own understanding ole out
