Erik ten Hag’s brilliant managerial record which could force Man Utd to sack Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under huge pressure to keep his job at Manchester United amid a disastrous run of form, which has seen his side win just one game from their last six Premier League outings.

The Norwegian was strongly backed over the summer with high-profile signings such as Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Cristiano Ronaldo all being completed as a sign of unequivocal backing from the Old Trafford hierarchy.

It hasn’t worked out as planned, however. Manchester United have accumulated just 17 points from their first 11 Premier League games and run the risk of being left behind by their rivals.

The speculation surrounding Solskjaer’s position has left some supporters wondering who any potential successor could be, with Ajax manager Erik ten Hag’s name popping up in a few discussions.

As seen in the stats above, Ten Hag boasts a mouthwatering record in charge of the Dutch giants and many feel that he would be ready to make the step up to an elite club.

His side’s breathtaking run to the Champions League quarter-finals in 2019 stole the hearts of millions of onlookers and the improvement has been non-stop, despite being decimated by the loss of several stars.

Frenkie de Jong, Mathijs de Ligt, Donny van de Beek and Hakim Ziyech have all left the club since that season but Ten Hag has maintained that winning formula.

Solskjaer does not appear to be at immediate risk of losing his job at the club but an extension to the current poor run could force United’s hand and they will be desperate to not miss the chance to land Ten Hag.
