(Video) Jamie Carragher hails ‘outstanding’ Manchester United after Tottenham win

Manchester United produced one of their best performances of the season over the weekend as they comfortably turned over Tottenham last Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been under increasing pressure at the club in the last few weeks, with the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool particularly embarrassing for the Norwegian manager.

United ended their four-game winless run in the Premier League at Tottenham and they have now been singled out for special praise by former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.

“I thought Manchester United were outstanding,” he said on Monday Night Football, as seen above. “I know since the game, there’s been a lot of talk about how poor Spurs were.

“We can’t criticise Manchester United for conceding five goals at home, looking all over the place then go to Tottenham away, or any away ground in the Premier League, and stopping the opposition from having a shot on target.

“You can just keep looking at Spurs, that’s really good from Manchester United.”

The former Liverpool star has refrained from praising his Manchester United in the past but has given credit where credit is due following United’s three-goal rout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

For the first time in a long time, United looked organised under Solskjaer and played to a planned idea, rather than putting several gifted players on the pitch and hoping for the best.

Solskjaer, who is still rumoured to be under heavy scrutiny by the Old Trafford hierarchy, will be hoping to build on that this evening as they face Atalanta in the Champions League.
