Preview: Atalanta vs Manchester United – Time to take hold on Group F

Manchester United will be looking to take one step closer to the last 16 when they take on Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Reds go into the game sitting top of Group F on six points having won two of their opening three group games, whilst the Italian side currently lay in third position having picked up four points thus far.

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely expected to start again for the Reds in Italy whilst Edinson Cavani could also be handed a start after scoring against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Having endured a difficult month or so, the win over Tottenham couldn’t have come at a better time for both Manchester United and head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It is no secret the pressure has been increasing following a disappointing run of form, but by beating Spurs it has lifted morale inside Old Trafford and hopefully it will act as the springboard needed to kick start United’s season again.

Facing Atalanta will arguably be the Reds toughest game of the group and and United will have to be on it should they wish to leave Italy with all three points.

An early goal in many respects could go a long way to deciding this one and if United can grab it then it could go a long way to helping the Reds take all three points.

It wont be easy but this is a game I do still think United will win albeit it will be a close one.

Prediction: Atalanta 0-1 Manchester United
