Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under increasing pressure at Manchester United and last weekend’s embarrassing defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford has piled on the pressure.

Solskjaer’s side were humiliated by their bitter rivals, with Liverpool scoring five goals at Old Trafford for the first time in the Premier League era.

As if that wasn’t enough, it extended United’s unwanted run of not winning a game in their last four league games, with the latest victory coming in September against West Ham.

Solskjaer’s job is said to be on the line over the upcoming matches and Antonio Conte, who is out of work after leaving Inter Milan over the summer, is thought to be waiting in the wings.

Journalist and transfers specialist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the Italian, claiming the former Chelsea manager is ‘dreaming’ of managing United but will stay respectful of Solskjaer.

“I have been told also yesterday, Antonio wants to go to Manchester United. He is dreaming of this Manchester United job he would love to join,” Romano said on his Twitch channel, according to This is Futbol.

“Of course, it’s respecting Solskjaer’s work, but if Man United will call on Antonio Conte he’s going to be ready to accept and to try this new experience.”
