Portugal are back in action tonight as they face Luxembourg in their 2022 World Cup qualifier. Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes both started the encounter, with the former giving his side an early lead from the penalty spot.
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva won the penalty, and Ronaldo made no mistake from the spot as he extended his lead at the top of international football’s scoring charts.
It wasn’t long until Portugal extended their lead against the European minnows, with Ronaldo once again stepping up to score from 12 yards. This time, the 36-year-old won the penalty himself before doubling his side’s lead inside 13 minutes.
