Cristiano Ronaldo wants Manchester United to sign ex-teammate at Juventus

Having played alongside Juventus star Federico Chiesa, it is rumoured that Cristiano Ronaldo wants the young attacker to join him at Old Trafford.

According to Calciomercato, Ronaldo is a big admirer of Chiesa and wants the Italian to follow in his footsteps by signing for Manchester United.

The highly-rated 23-year-old joined Juve on a two-year loan from fellow Serie A outfit Fiorentina last summer and has impressed to the point that a number of big clubs are likely to be sniffing out his signature sooner rather than later.

Chiesa has played 50 matches for The Old Lady during which he directly contributed 27 goals.

That’s a good record for a young player, but with the amount of attacking talent United already have at their disposal, where would he fit?

He is versatile enough to play across the front three and that would leave manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with another dilemma when selecting his team.

I’m not for one second saying Chiesa wouldn’t get into the United line-up, though we aren’t exactly making the most of what we have currently, after a patchy start to the 2021/22 campaign.

Juventus are also expected to make his move permanent once an agreement is met with Fiorentina.
