Manchester United spent heavily in the summer but the club still appears to be desperately short in one area. Failure to bring in a new defensive midfielder is raising a lot of questions and as patchy performances continue, it is becoming increasingly more obvious that the side needs an injection of centralised talent.
Currently forced to choose between the likes of Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer often opts to go with a defensive duo in midfield.
Speaking recently about the Norweigan’s midfield options, ex-Premier League striker Darren Bent thinks that tactic will eventually end up costing the Red Devils a title challenge.
