Manchester United’s dramatic win over Unai Emery’s Villarreal will be remembered for Cristiano Ronaldo’s late winner Edinson Cavani’s late introduction sparked late pressure from the Reds.
The veteran striker has made three appearances from the bench this season and after last season’s heroics, he remains one of the fan-favourites at Old Trafford.
As the clock wound down in the 90-minute affair, a second goal was looking increasingly unlikely for United, who looked set to settle for one point from their opening two games.
Look at Cavani, This guy is elite man look at the awareness of him knowing he can still get to the ball, just incredible. pic.twitter.com/lWBssAwEQ4

Cavani had other plans, however. One incident, as seen above, shows the Uruguay international pulling out a lung-busting run to rescue a wayward pass from Nemanja Matic. Ronaldo is also seen giving up on the overhit effort.
Cavani ran the width of the pitch to keep it in play and succeeded, which eventually resulted in another attack for his side.
