Man Utd defender slept at training ground in bid to revive career – report

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot enjoyed resurrected his career last season after an impressive season-long loan at Italian outfit AC Milan. The young full-back had fallen out of favour at Old Trafford but returned to his best in Serie A.

Dalot was the clear understudy to Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Manchester United, rarely featuring in league games and was even dropped in favour of Timothy Fosu-Mensah at one point.

An exit from the Old Trafford club seemed inevitable but the temporary arrangement with AC Milan seems to have put him back in contention for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, with the player now having made appearances in all three competitions this season.

According to a report from Goal, Dalot is determined to show why he deserves a place in the Manchester United team and even slept at the AC Milan training ground, Milanello, to resurrect his career with the Reds.

The decision is said to have come in a bid to boost recovery and the 22-year-old was also reluctant to leave the City during his time off as he tried to reduce the risk of catching COVID-19.

Dalot’s efforts for AC Milan also earned him a call-up to the Portugal national team for this summer’s European Championship.
