Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has struggled to nail down a permanent place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season and the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo certainly hasn’t helped.
The 25-year-old missed out on participation in this summer’s European Championship due to injury but was called up to the France squad in the latest international break.
His inclusion by Didier Deschamps hasn’t aided his bid for minutes at Old Trafford, however, with late cameos against Newcastle and Young Boys being his only appearances on this side of the two-week interval.
According to Eurosport, Manchester United officials have now given Martial the green light to find a new club. A departure could isn’t without its complications, however, as it’s reported Martial fears being priced out of a move away in January.
The potential sale of Martial could see the club collect a handsome transfer fee and free up wages, with the forward valued at £40.5m by Transfermarkt.
Martial is reportedly open to staying in the Premier League but could be interested in opportunities elsewhere. Atletico Madrid are said to have been interested before signing Antoine Griezmann and Barcelona could look to make a move next year.
