Louis van Gaal delivers bad news for Donny van de Beek again

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has been left out of the Netherlands squad again as he continues to be on the periphery at club level. The midfielder earned his first start of the season earlier this week but was a half-time casualty after United were reduced to 10 men in the Champions League.

Van de Beek, who pulled out of the Netherlands squad for this summerโ€™s European Championship with a groin injury, was left out Louis van Gaalโ€™s first set of fixtures as manager since returning to the job.

Now, the former Manchester United boss has delivered bad news for Van de Beek once again as he was left out of the provisional squad for games against Latvia and Gibraltar.

Despite naming a 28-man squad, there was no room for the 24-year-old, as seen above. Van de Beek has seen his stock drop dramatically since making the move from Ajax to Manchester in 2020 but after he was denied a transfer on deadline day, he will be hoping for a change in fortunes.

There is, however, no immediate rush as the next international tournament is not until the winter of 2022, leaving Van de Beek with plenty of time to play himself into Van Gaalโ€™s plans.
