Edinson Cavani will miss Manchester United’s Champions League opener against Young Boys on Tuesday with an injury, but luckily, we’ve a number of attacking players who should be able to get the job done after their trip to Switzerland.
The Uruguayan missed Saturday’s 4-1 win over Newcastle in the Premier League after sustaining a minor injury in training. Cristiano Ronaldo took the spotlight on his homecoming with two goals and he has travelled for the Champions League game this week.
CR7 is expected to make his first appearance for the club in the Champions League since featuring in the 2009 final, which United lost against Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona.
There’s a place in the 22-man squad for 19-year-old Anthony Elanga, alongside young goalkeeper Matej Kovar.
It may come as a boost for Young Boys that we’ll be without Cavani, but with Ronaldo, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood in the team there should be no shortage of goals, as seen against Newcastle at the weekend.
