Jesse Lingard has less than a year remaining on his current deal.

And it has been reported that he has rejected an offer to extend his contract at Manchester United.

With all of that, the media are going to start hyping transfer talk around the United midfielder, and his recent display in an England shirt can only do favours in terms of sparking interest around Europe.

Lingard being a home bird, I can’t imagine him straying too far from Manchester, and that was probably his biggest reason for wanting to stay this season — plus to fight for his place now that Daniel James has joined Leeds United.

On the back of the contract refusal, Coral bookmakers have made West Ham favourites to sign Lingard on a permanent.

Aston Villa are second in the charts with an interesting shout to Borussia Dortmund priced well in the market.

  • West Ham – 2/1
  • Aston Villa – 6/1
  • Everton – 6/1
  • Tottenham – 6/1
  • AC Milan – 8/1
  • Arsenal – 8/1
  • Borussia Dortmund – 10/1
  • AS Roma – 10/1
