Five-time Ballon D’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has received his Guinness World Record certificate for scoring the most international goals in men’s football.

This comes after Ronaldo became the first male football to score 111 goals on the international stage.

The Manchester United striker achieved this feat in Portugal’s 2-1 win over the Republic of Ireland in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday night, after scoring two late goals.

Ronaldo has posed with the certificate for Instagram and his other social media networks – sharing the image on Facebook while he expressed his gratitude for being honoured as a world record breaker.
