Man United veteran set to consider future in Championship

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is reportedly considering moving to the Championship in an attempt to reignite his career.

That’s according to a recent report from Football League World, who suggest the English centre-back could be set for a late summer move away from Old Trafford.

Jones, 29, has spent over a decade at the club after being sign by Sir Alex Ferguson all the way back in 2011.

Despite playing a key role in the side earlier in his career, recent seasons have seen the experienced defender exiled, in part due to injuries, but also due to the new direction current manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to take the club in.

Although Jones has barely featured in the last two years, this summer could see the 29-year-old secure a move, even if it’s on loan, and finally, get back to playing.

The latest in the ongoing saga comes from FLW, who claims that the player himself is ‘weighing up’ potential offers that may come in from clubs in England’s second tier.
