Timothy Fosu-Mensah left Manchester United earlier this year on a permanent deal after struggling to nail down a starting role under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The midfielder-turned-defender enjoyed a promising breakthrough at the club under Louis van Gaal but several serious injuries hampered his development.
Fosu-Mensah made his first appearance for the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjer in June last year, almost three years after he had featured most recently under Jose Mourinho.

Now, the Dutch star is plying his trade at Bayer Leverkusen and after a stellar start to life in the Bundesliga, he once again found himself on the treatment table after suffering another serious knee injury.
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has now sent a supportive message to his former teammate on social media after Fosu-Mensah offered an update on his recovery. The 23-year-old is expected to be ready for a return to action later this year.
