Watford star predicts Man Utd to beat Southampton after ‘incredible’ performance

Manchester United are in action again this weekend after getting off to the best possible start to the new Premier League season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side comfortably swept aside Leeds United in their curtain-raiser last weekend.

Now, a test against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton beckons as United aim to make it 27 consecutive games on the road without defeat, which would equal the Premier League record set by Arsenal in 2004.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper and now Watford star Ben Foster has predicted Solskjaer’s side to come on top in the encounter and hailed his former side’s performance against Leeds as ‘incredible’.

“Man United got us underway with an incredible performance on Saturday morning against Leeds,” Foster said on his The Cycling GK YouTube channel.

“Five goals, Paul Pogba with four assists and Bruno Fernandes with the hat-trick. Bruno, you little beauty. Obviously, I had him in my fantasy team. Man United look (like) a strong team this year, I’m gonna go for a 3-1 win.”

Raphael Varane was unveiled as Manchester United’s third signing of the summer prior to kick-off against Leeds and he could be involved in the showdown at St. Mary’s, whilst Jadon Sancho, who made his debut in the win, will also be hoping to earn his first start.

Edinson Cavani returned to training this week but is unlikely to feature, with a first appearance of the season put on hold until he regains fitness.
