Video: Rafael da Silva heaps praise on Manchester United star

Bruno Fernandes has set the standards for himself at a ridiculously high level since he joined Manchester United in 2020. The midfielder has more goal involvements than any other player in the Premier League since his debut.

And following his first full campaign at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old picked up right where he left off when he scored his first hat-trick for the club in United’s curtain-raiser against Leeds United last week.

Former Manchester United player and fan-favourite Rafael da Silva faced the Portgual international twice last season and has hailed his impact at the club, insisting that although expectations were high, they have been far exceeded.

In this episode Dale, Shaun and Joe discuss the opening game of the new Premier League season after Manchester United beat Leeds 5-1.

“Crazy,” he told Sky Sports, via Football Daily, when quizzed on Fernandes’ performances. “I can say this word. When he came to Manchester United everyone knew he was a good player but not that good.

“He’s been amazing. And one thing with him, it’s fun to watch him play you know. He’s a very clever player and I love to watch him play for United.”

Rafael is currently a free agent after leaving Istanbul Basaksehir this summer and still has several years left in him at the age of 31. The former Lyon star was a casualty of Louis van Gaal’s strict regime at Manchester United but remains
