Manchester United ‘ready to sell’ Anthony Martial to Inter Milan

Throughout the summer, Anthony Martial has recovered from a troublesome knee injury and the Frenchman returned to action when Manchester United saw off Everton in their final pre-season friendly.

Rumours linking the forward away from the club were scarce but last Sunday, a report claimed that the former Monaco star was being courted by Inter Milan, with the Italian club looking to sign him on loan to replace Romelu Lukaku.

With Marcus Rashford out injured for the foreseeable future and questions remaining over Jesse Lingard’s future at the club, it feels like letting Martial leave the club could prove to be costly.

Now, according to The Sun, Manchester United are ‘ready to sell’ the 25-year-old, if Inter make an offer close to the £50m paid by United in 2015.

It’s claimed that when Lukaku completed his return to Chelsea, the Serie A champions will immediately ramp up their efforts to sign Martial as his replacement.

Inter want to sign him on loan as United would prefer a permanent switch but could accept a loan arrangement with an obligation to buy in 12 months.
